Dexter Wener to give NFL a Chance at NDSU Pro Day

NDSU senior Dexter Werner is trading in the basketball for a football. Werner, a 6-foot-6, 240-pound center who just finished a decorated career on the basketball court will participate in NDSU's annual "Pro Day" next week, per his father, John Werner.

Werner would not be the first basketball big man to convert to the NFL. there is a bevy of Tight Ends in the NFL that played college basketball including Antonio Gates (Kent State), Jimmy Graham (Miami), Martellus Bennett (Texas A&M) and even a mid-major ball player Darren Fells (UC Irvine).

Werner was a multisport athlete in high school including being an All-state tight end for Bismarck High School.
