Mike Zimmer is "more optimistic" about a Teddy Bridgewater return

During a press conferences today in Minnesota the Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said he’s “more optimistic” about a return to the field for the quarterback than he ever had been.

Zimmer was asked about the 24 year-old quarterback who suffered a life threatening knee injury last preseason and his potential return. “I love teddy Bridgewater the guy is working his rear end off he continues to fight every single day.” said Zimmer “I’m probably more optimistic now about him potentially playing than I have been at any point in time but he still has a long ways to go.”

Bridgewater did not play at all in 2016 and his status for the 2017 season is very much in question. Recently the Vikings declined a fifth-year option on Bridgewater so if he does come back this year for the Vikings he would be eligible for free agency next offseason.
