North Wins Shootout to Capture First Win in 2016

The Fargo North Spartans and Fargo Davies Eagles took to the field Friday night with both teams looking to pick up their first win of the season as they start EDC conference play. There was plenty of scoring and no shortage of big plays as each team scored touchdowns of 45 yards or more. A missed extra point after a Davies touchdown was the difference as North would take the lead late and go on to earn their first win 28-27.

Vikings Go All In for 2016 Acquire Bradford From Eagles

Twitter blew up this morning with the news that the Minnesota Vikings had traded for Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford. The trade details are still being released, but the main compensation is a 2017 1st round pick and a 2018 4th round pick. It is being reported that the 4th rounder could turn into a 3rd or 2nd round pick depending on Bradford’s success on the Vikings.

Bison Kickoff College Football and Season with Overtime Victory

As college football kicked off in 2016 another national championship banner was raised and head coach Chris Klieman led the Bison out of the tunnel and onto the field against the Charleston Southern Buccaneers. And as many expected the game was sold out with 18,881 fans packing the seats inside the Fargodome.
 
CSU put up an extremely good fight and stymied a Bison offense that came with six returning starters on the offensive unit.

Teiken and Packers Prove too Much for Minot

The 2016 North Dakota High School football season got started on Friday night. West Fargo and Minot matched up in week one with both teams have aspirations of playing in the Fargodome this November.
 
Minot got on the scoreboard first with touchdown pass from junior quarterback Creighton Rudolph to Peyton Lamoureux. Minot’s defense stayed strong through the first quarter and even had an interception by Brett Lunde 79 yards for a score.

2016 EDC Football Preview

The first whistles of the 2016 season were heard on Wednesday as football teams from across the state of North Dakota got underway with their practices. with those whistles comes much anticipation and high expectations for many teams in search for a trip to the Dakota Bowl and a state title. Last year it was two teams from out west, Bismarck Century and Minot, that represented their schools in the championship game with the Patriots of Century claiming the top spot 28-21.
