MINNEAPOLIS - The game between the Toronto Blue Jays and Minnesota Twins scheduled for Wednesday night was postponed due to expected inclement weather and cold temperatures in the Twin Cities.

Fargo North names Adam Roland as new head football coach

FARGO – Fargo North High School announced Wednesday that Adam Roland will be the school’s new head football coach.

Roland is a teacher at North High School and has been an assistant coach in football and track and field the last three years.

Roland, a former football standout at Wahpeton High School and the University of North Dakota, takes over a Spartans program that finished the 2013 season 1-8 under Kelly Kalina, who resigned in January.

MOORHEAD – Dan Weisse is leaving Minnesota State Moorhead, but staying in the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference.

Weisse was named head men’s basketball coach at Minnesota-Crookston on Tuesday after spending the three previous seasons as an assistant coach with the Dragons.

Vikings sign TE Reisner; OL Samuda injured

The Minnesota Vikings on Tuesday signed tight end Allen Reisner, who rejoins the team after spending the final week of the 2012 season and the entire 2013 season with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Originally signed by the Vikings as a rookie free agent in 2011, Reisner joined the Jaguars after being signed off the Vikings' practice squad on Dec. 24, 2012.

MINNEAPOLIS – Todd Hoffner has decided to return to Minnesota State-Mankato to be the head football coach after a recent arbitrator ruling, leaving the Minot State head spot after a few months.

Hoffner, 47, made the announcement this afternoon at his attorneys’ office in Minneapolis.

“My hope is to put this behind me as I take this step,” Hoffner said. “I intend to make every effort to resume normal, working relationships.”
