Minnesota House approves Higher Education Budget

(St. Paul, MN) — The Minnesota House is advancing a proposed higher education budget.

The House passed the budget bill Wednesday, which will fund the Office of Higher Education, the Minnesota State Colleges and Universities, the University of Minnesota campuses, Mayo Clinic Medical School, and Minnesota’s Tribal Colleges.

The higher education budget also invests in scholarships for students pursuing high-demand jobs, equipment to better serve workforce demands, and industry-specific programming.

The University of Minnesota will also receive a one-time cash infusion to address a 48-million dollar tuition shortfall.
