Minnesota settles with E-Cigarette makers Juul, Altria

(St. Paul, MN) — Minnesota Attorney General Keith Ellison has announced a settlement in the state’s 100-million dollar lawsuit against the makers of e-cigarettes, Juul and Altria.

The announcement came late Monday morning just as trial proceedings were about to wrap up.

The suit was filed four years ago. It accused the companies of aggressively marketing its products to hook juveniles on e-cigarettes.

Several states had settled with Juul since then but Ellison had said a settlement was not an option.

Details of Minnesota’s settlement will not be disclosed until court papers are filed within the next month.
