Wild to participate in 2023 NHL Global Series – Sweden

On Wednesday morning the National Hockey League (NHL) and National Hockey League Players’ Association (NHLPA) announced that the 2023 NHL Global Series is heading to Sweden. It will feature four teams that include the Minnesota Wild, Detroit Red Wings, Ottawa Senators, and Toronto Maple Leafs.

The Wild will play in two games during the series, one as the home team and the other as the away team. Minnesota will take on the Ottawa Senators on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 10 a.m. CT (5 p.m. Swedish time) as the road team. Then on Sunday, Nov. 19 at 7 a.m. CT (2 p.m. Swedish time) they will play as the home team versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. Both games are set to be played at Avicii Arena in Stockholm, Sweden.

Minnesota currently has eight Swedish players on its roster. They include: Jonas Brodin (Karlstad), Joel Eriksson Ek (Karlstad), Filip Gustavsson (Skellefteå), Marcus Johansson (Landskrona), John Klingberg (Gothenburg), Gustav Nyquist (Halmstad), Oskar Sundqvist (Boden), and Jesper Wallstedt (Vasteras).
