(Chapel Hill, NC) — The Minnesota Gophers suffered just their second non-conference loss under PJ Fleck on Saturday.
Minnesota was defeated by No. 17 North Carolina 31-13 at Kenan Stadium. The Gophers trailed 21-10 at the half, but they kicked a field goal early in the third to get within one possession. However, UNC ended the game with a 10-0 run. Darius Taylor ran for 138 yards and a touchdown, but Athan Kaliakmanis completed just 11 of his 29 passes for 133 yards and an interception.
Minnesota fell to 2-1 overall. The Gophers visit Northwestern on Saturday.
