(Washington, D.C.) — California Senator Dianne Feinstein has died.
The oldest member of the U.S. Senate and California’s longest-serving senator died Friday morning at age 90.
She had been in failing health for much of the past year.
Senator Kevin Cramer commented on Feinstein’s passing.
“Kris and I offer our sincerest condolences to Senator Feinstein’s family, friends, and staff. She was a lifelong public servant and an intelligent and influential legislator. Dianne was a truly genuine person and a giant of the Senate,” said Cramer.
Former North Dakota Senator Heidi Heitkamp also commented.
“She was somebody who was a mentor who was so generous with her time and with her commitment to women in politics,” said Heitkamp.
