(St. Paul, MN) — Over two dozen schools and many Jewish facilities in Minnesota have been targeted in “swatting” incidents.
“Swatting” is usually a false call to trick law enforcement into responding to a targeted location. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension says 25 schools and nine Jewish facilities got near identical emails of shooting and bombing threats around 4 p.m. Wednesday. Authorities quickly found the threats to not be real.
Officers are investigating the incident.
