EAST GRAND FORKS, MN – The Minnesota BCA is investigating a deadly officer involved shooting in northwestern Minnesota’s Polk County. It happened Tuesday at a home near East Grand Forks.
The Polk County Sheriff’s Office, East Grand Forks Police and the Pine to Prairie Drug Task Force executed an arrest warrant at a home in Rhinehart Township. The Polk County Sheriff’s Office says at one point the suspect exited the home and went back inside, followed by officers. Shortly afterward there was an officer involved shooting. The suspect died after being taken to Altru Hospital in Grand Forks.
Authorities say it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public.
