Minnesota ministry founder: state's Human Rights Act “is targeting all faiths”

(Fargo, ND) — The founder of Minnesota-based Social Media Ministries says state law needs to be amended to include exemptions to protect religious organizations and faith-based schools against claims of gender identity discrimination.

“The scary part about this one is that this blankets all faiths. It’s not specifically targeted toward, like in the past Jews or Christians, this is targeting all faiths, said Spencer Conner.

Conner is pushing for an amendment to Minnesota’s Human Rights Act.

He says the law, as it is currently written, prevents his organization and others from operating and hiring in ways consistent with their mission and values.

Conner appeared on WDAY Mid Day.
