WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Senator John Hoeven is pushing back against the Biden Administration’s new executive action that allows non-citizens married to U.S. residents to have an expedited path to citizenship.
Hoeven pushed back against the measure, saying Biden is not focusing on the actual serious security issues and is circumventing the law in the process.
“Instead of focusing on the fixing the serious security issues affecting our border, President Biden is again advancing policies that circumvent enforcement of the law,” said Hoeven in a statement. “We need real border security to end the illegal immigration crisis, not more election-year open border policies.”
Hoeven is pressing colleagues to support Remain in Mexico, requiring residents from El Salvador, Honduras, and Guatemala to seek asylum there first, and resuming construction of the southern border
