(Blue Earth County, MN) — A building near the Rapidan Dam has been demolished to keep it from falling into the Blue Earth River.
The Rapidan Dam Store was torn down on Friday after Blue Earth County took possession of the building from the Hruska family.
The county said erosion along the riverbank was increasing, making it unsafe to move the building.
The family’s home fell into the river earlier in the week.
Several organizations are working to raise money for the family to help them recover from the loss.
