(FARGO) – The City of Fargo will appoint a new Deputy Mayor and swear in two newly elected City Commissioners at its regular meeting tonight.
Municipal Judge Steve Dawson will administer the Oaths of Office to John Strand and Michelle Turnberg at the beginning of tonight’s meeting. Strand was reelected to another term, while Turnberg will be entering elected office for the first time after a long career in television in Fargo.
In addition, the Fargo City Commission will appoint a new Deputy Mayor.
Arlette Preston had been appointed Deputy Mayor from October 2022 until losing her reelection bid in June.
According to agenda documentation, Mayor Dr. Tim Mahoney will recommend appointment of Denise Kolpack as the City’s Deputy Mayor.
Tonight’s meeting will begin at 5 p.m. in Fargo City Commission chambers.
