BISMARCK, ND — North Dakota Dem-NPL party members are excited about a potential Kamala Harris presidential candidate.
The North Dakota delegation is making the comments following President Biden’s decision to leave the 2024 election in favor of a different candidate. Vice President Kamala Harris immediately jumped ahead as a potential nominee from the Democratic Party, with members of the North Dakota Dem NPL and other state-level groups around the country making endorsements of Harris.
“First and foremost, we acknowledge and express our deep gratitude for President Biden’s decades of compassionate public service. His commitment to his family and his faith is one we admire and hope all leaders will emulate,” said Kylie Oversen, the Chair of the North Dakota Delegation for the Democratic National Convention. “President Biden’s decision to pass the torch to a new generation of leadership comes from a place of humility and true patriotism.”
Dem-NPL Party Chairman Adam Goldwyn says the conversation to endorse Harris took about 30 minutes. Goldwyn believes policies like the American Rescue Plan, the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, and the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act will bring voters to the ballot box.
He also believes people who truly believe in “North Dakota nice” will step away from Republican Presidential Candidate Donald Trump, Vice Presidential pick J.D. Vance, and other top level Republicans. He cites statements from an article in Time Magazine, in which Trump allegedly told his nephew that his son and people like him “should just die” while speaking about disabled people.
“I always like to say that every red state is only red until the next election and every blue state is only blue until the next election. You can mark my words. This is my guarantee; there will be more Dem NPL’ers in Bismarck in the State Legislature, the House, the Senate.”
The Democratic National Convention is set to take place on August 19th in Chicago.
