UND’s Berg, Livanavage named to Preseason All-NCHC Team

University of North Dakota senior forward Cameron Berg and sophomore defenseman Jake Livanavage have been placed on the 2024-25 Preseason All-NCHC Team, the league office announced.

Last season Berg was third on the team with 37 points on 20 goals and 17 assists. All three categories were career highs. The West Fargo, N.D. native, played in all 40 games for the Fighting Hawks. He led NoDak with 394 face-off wins along with being a finalist for the NCHC Defensive Forward of the Year Award. Berg has been named an assistant captain for the 2024-25 season.

Livanavage has an impressive freshman campaign where he was fifth on the team in points. Over 40 games played, he led all UND defensemen with 29 points. The Phoenix, Ariz. native, earned a spot on the All-NCHC Rookie Team and also earned All-NCHC Honorable Mention honors. He blocked 51 shots and posted a plus-five rating a year ago.

Media members voted for three forwards, two defensemen and one goaltender on their ballot with each vote worth one point. The top three vote-getters at forward, top two defensemen and highest vote-getting goaltender made up the preseason all-conference team. A total of 30 ballots were submitted by media members covering each team, as well as select national college hockey media.
