The Minnesota Twins salvaged the final game of their series with the Cincinnati Reds with a 9-2 win on Sunday.
David Festa gave up two runs over 3 ⅔ innings, ending up with a no decision. Ronny Henriquez tossed 1 ⅓ innings out of the bullpen. Cole Sands improved to 8-1 after throwing two innings and earning the win. Jorge Alcala struck out four batters over the final two innings.
Brooks Lee drove in a team-high five runs. Carlos Santana hit a homer and drove in two runs. Willi Castro and Ryan Jeffers each drove in a run.
The Twins will now head to Cleveland to battle the Guardians beginning on Monday night. Minnesota currently has a 2 ½ game lead over the Tigers and Mariners for the third and final American League Wild Card spot.
