Twins take down Guardians

The Minnesota Twins took down the Cleveland Guardians 4-1 on Tuesday night.

Willi Castro led the offense with a two-run homer. Matt Wallner also drove in two runs. Six pitchers recorded at least one out for Minnesota. Zebby Matthews gave up one run over 4 ⅓ innings of a no decision. Cole Sands tossed an inning out of the bullpen, earning the win. Griffin Jax threw the final two outs and earned a save.

The Twins and Guardians will square off again on Wednesday evening with first pitch scheduled for 5:40 p.m. Bailey Ober will get the nod for Minnesota while Tanner Bibee counters for Cleveland

The Twins currently have a 1 ½ game lead over the Tigers for the third and final American League Wild Card spot.
