Federal Government Sued By Catholic Diocese of Bismark

The federal government is being sued over regulations that protect employees who want an abortion or fertility treatments and protect LGBTQ workers from discrimination.  The suit is being brought by the the Catholic Diocese of Bismark and a Catholic employers’ association.  In the complaint, the diocese and association call the regulations an abuse of power that violates the rights of employers opposed to abortion, fertilization treatments, an LGBTQ accommodations on religious grounds.  The Bismark Catholic Diocese and the Catholic Benefits Association are asking U.S. District Judge Daniel Traynor to suspend enforcement of the regulations temporarily as the lawsuit goes forth.
