Requested ND Absentee Ballots to be sent out Thursday

BISMARCK, ND — Absentee ballots will be sent out to homes across North Dakota beginning Thursday.

The process works as follows, according to North Dakota Secretary of State Michael Howe. State residents from 32 counties participating in mail-in voting can request an absentee ballot from their county offices. The offices will send a series of forms to verify the identity of voters requesting to vote by absentee ballot. Once those forms are filled and sent back to the offices, they will be sent the absentee ballots.

He also clarified some questions from listeners. This includes if the resident submits both in-person and absentee ballots. According to Howe, the offices will count the first ballot received by voters and reject any others.

Absentee voting begins Thursday, September 26th. You can learn more about voting in North Dakota by clicking here.
