(GRAND FORKS) – The Sheriff of Grand Forks County says his department will continue to provide services to the City of Northwood after the community ends its policing department on Monday. Sheriff Andy Schneider says the department will be able to enforce state laws, but not local city ordinances.
The sheriff said his office will continue to work with the City of Northwood on ‘the best solution for both parties moving forward in regard to police services.’
The current police chief’s resignation is effective at 4 p.m. Monday.
