(HAWLEY) — The Clay County Sheriff’s Office, along with the Minnesota State Fire Marshal’s Office have determined the cause of the fire at the Taracon Precast Plant to be accidental. Taracon Precast is located at 6189 170th Street North in rural Clay County. During the investigation, Investigators determined a worker was cutting rebar with a handheld power cutter, which was caused the sparks to catch other material on fire. Attempts were made by staff on site to put the fire out but were unsuccessful.
