Former Force player, coach Demers dies at 33

(FARGO) — A local hockey phenom turned coach has died.

Chad Demers died Thursday at the age of 33 after battling brain cancer for six years. He graduated from Grafton High School in 2009, where he excelled in football, hockey, and baseball, forming lifelong friendships along the way. Before completing his senior year, Chad left to pursue his passion for hockey, joining the Fargo Force, where he played for three years.

Funeral services will be Monday morning at 10 a.m. at the Grafton High School gymnasium, with visitation Sunday from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. at the Tollefson Funeral Home in Grafton.
