(GRAND FORKS) – A fire Friday night displaced tenants of an apartment building. Crews responded to an apartment complex in the 2800 block of South 17th Street at just after 7 p.m. on a report of smoke and flames showing. When they arrived on scene, smoke was seen coming from a second-floor apartment. People were reportedly trapped inside. Crews began searching the building for trapped occupants and removed one resident and multiple pets from a third-floor apartment. One unit sustained extensive damage, with smoke damage throughout the building. The tenants were displaced for the night, and the cause remains under investigation.
