The Minnesota Wild and President of Hockey Operations and General Manager Bill Guerin, announced a contract extension with goaltender Jesper Wallstedt.
The extension is two-years and worth $4.4 million with an average annual value of $2.2 million. The new deal will begin in the 2025-26 season and run through the 2026-27 season.
The Vasteras, Sweden native, made three starts for Minnesota during the 2023-24 season, with a 2-1 record that included a 3.01 goals-against average along with a .897 save percentage.
Throughout his career, Wallstedt had posted a 40-34-12 record with a 2.69 goals-against average, .909 save percentage, and three shutouts over 83 games played with the Iowa Wild (AHL).
Wallstedt and the Wild will open the 2024-25 campaign on Thursday night against the Columbus Blue Jackets. Puck drop will be scheduled for 7 p.m. at the Xcel Energy Center in Saint Paul, Minn.
