(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Twins are for sale. The Pohlad family released a statement yesterday saying that they are planning on selling their baseball franchise.
The Pohlads have owned the Twins since 1984, and the Twins won two World Series titles during their time leading the team. However, executive chair Joe Pohlad cut payroll by over $30-million dollars heading into the 2024 season after the team won its first playoff series since 2002 during the 2023 campaign.
The Pohlad family also threatened to move the Twins to North Carolina in 1997 and put the team up for contraction after the 2001 season.
