Suspect arrested after taking toddler from Child Protective Services

GRAND FORKS, ND — A local woman is facing charges following her arrest on drug charges Thursday in Grand Forks.

Police say 22-year-old Krysta Ramstad was arrested and charged yesterday after she allegedly grabbed her toddler – who had been taken into custody by Child Protective Services – before hopping into her vehicle and fleeing from CPS officers. Officers called to the scene tracked her and the child down later Friday along Coppergate Drive. She reportedly resisted arrest before surrendering to officers.

The toddler – who was not hurt – was returned to CPS custody. Charges are pending.
