LAS VEGAS, NV — A Las Vegas man is facing charges after being arrested at a checkpoint near former President Trump’s rally in Southern California on Saturday.
Police say 49-year-old Vem Miller tried to pass a security checkpoint with loaded guns and multiple passports with fake names in his vehicle. Miller, who was released on $5,000 bail, says he supports Trump and tells the Las Vegas Review-Journal any notion that he was planning to assassinate the former president is “ridiculous.”
In a joint statement along with the FBI and Justice Department, the US Secret Service noted that Trump was “not in any danger” at a California rally held over the weekend.
