Some small businesses in several counties in North Dakota are eligible for low interest federal disaster loans from the Small Business Administration. According to SBA’s Francisco Sanchez Jr, small non-farm businesses in fourteen counties in North Dakota are eligible to apply for the loans. There are small businesses in Montana and South Dakota that qualify as well. Here’s a list of the counties where businesses may qualify:
Primary North Dakota counties: Adams, Divide, Slope and Williams;
Neighboring North Dakota counties: Billings, Bowman, Burke, Golden Valley, Grant, Hettinger,
McKenzie, Mountrail, Sioux and Stark;
Neighboring Montana counties: Fallon, Richland, Roosevelt and Sheridan;
Neighboring South Dakota counties: Corson, Harding and Perkins.
These loans offset economic losses because of reduced revenues caused by drought beginning Oct. 1. The Economic Injury Disaster Loan can help businesses up to $2 million to help with operating expenses and financial obligations.
The deadline to apply June 9, 2025.
