Jamestown Man Gets 10 Year Sentence for Infant’s Death

Jamestown, ND — A Jamestown man is getting a ten-year prison sentence after his two-year-old child overdosed on fentanyl. Court records say 40-year-old Christopher William Johnson admitted to using fentanyl at his home in Jamestown on June 2nd, falling asleep and then waking up to find his child unresponsive. First responders administered Narcan to the child, who was taken to Jamestown Regional Medical Center for treatment. Johnson pleaded guilty to child endangerment. On Wednesday, a Southeast District Court judge rejected a plea agreement and sentenced Johnson to ten years in prison with two years suspended.
