Multiple departments battle rural fire in Richland County

(RICHLAND COUNTY, ND) — Multiple fire departments in the southern valley responded to a fire that got out of control Thursday.

The Wyndmere Fire Department says they responded to a small fire northwest of the city at after 2:30 Thursday afternoon. Within a short time, the fire made an aggressive run on the yard, and agencies from Milnor and Gwinner were requested but unable to initially respond due to being on their own fire. Barney and Lidgerwood and Dwight were then called. Wyndmere units adjusted tactics and worked to save a house.

All units cleared scene around 12 a.m. The fire resulted in one barn, a utility shed, more than 50 bales and less than 50 acres burned.
