Strand to recommend reinstatement of winter warming plan

(FARGO, ND) – Fargo City Commissioners are expected to take up a request from fellow commissioner John Strand to direct city staff to prepare a winter warming plan for a second year in a row. In a memo to fellow commissioners, Strand said the City was able to use American Rescue Plan Act funds to initiate a winter warming program. The program served approximately 37 unhoused individuals nightly. Strand said unanticipated state grant funding has resulted in funds remaining to be used this year. The City Commission will take up the discussion at their regular meeting, which begins Monday at 5 p.m.
