No one hurt after crash, vehicle fire in Felton, Minn.

FELTON, Minn. – Only minor injuries are reported after a crash leading to a vehicle fire in Felton.

The Clay County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash on Minnesota Highway 9 around 6:15 Monday morning. Authorities say on their way there, the empty vehicle caught fire. The Felton Fire Department put out the flames.

Sheriff Mark Empting says the driver lost control of the vehicle on the icy road and slid into a power pole. It’s unclear what led to the vehicle to start on fire. Xcel Energy was informed of a power pole damaged from the fire and it didn’t cause an outage.

A passenger from the vehicle was arrested on an unrelated warrant from Cass County, North Dakota.
