North Dakotans support state’s efforts to fight cuts to fossil fuel, coal and oil production

(BISMARCK, ND) – A recent poll by the North Dakota News Cooperative of 500 adults in North Dakota shows support for North Dakota fighting the federal government’s efforts to cut back or eliminate the production of fossil fuels.

Of those polled, 45 percent support the state’s efforts fighting for fossil fuels. The 45 percent total support includes 34 percent of people strongly supporting the state’s efforts.

When asked about the state’s effort to preserve coal and oil production in the state, 79 percent of respondents support the state fighting to keep the state’s coal and oil production going.

A total of 63 percent support more environmental protections for North Dakota’s energy production.
