Former owner of JT Cigarro’s, O’Leary’s Irish Pub await sentencing in relation to a multi-state cocaine-trafficking case

(Fargo, ND) — The former owner of a Fargo cigar bar awaits sentencing after he pleaded guilty to federal charges linked to a multi-state cocaine-trafficking conspiracy.

Prosecutors say 51-year-old Barrett Prody once owned JT Cigarro’s and O’Leary’s Irish Pub and recently pleaded guilty to conspiracy to possess with intent to distribute a controlled substance, obstruction of justice, money laundering and continuing criminal enterprise. Two confidential law-enforcement informants reportedly admitted to buying tens of thousands of dollars’ worth of cocaine and helping Prody transport the drugs.

Court officials say Prody will be sentenced in mid-February.
