Moorhead man arrested after traffic stop, assault of officers

(FARGO, ND) – A Moorhead man is in the Cass County Jail on multiple charges after a traffic stop in Fargo Tuesday afternoon.

The North Dakota Highway Patrol made contact with a vehicle in the parking lot at 2535 23rd Avenue South in Fargo at about 4:30 p.m. The driver of the vehicle was suspected of being intoxicated and had children in the car.

The driver, 44-year-old Oscar Lee, Jr., of Moorhead, was placed under arrest for DUI. While placing him under arrest, the suspect resisted and began kicking at officers, striking a Highway Patrol trooper several times. Lee continued to resist arrest and threatened officers before being placed in a patrol car.

The trooper sustained minor injuries and was treated at Essentia Hospital.

Lee faces charges of DUI, DUI refusal and driving under revocation. He also is charged with felony resisting arrest, assault on a peace officer and terrorizing.

He is jailed at the Cass County Jail.
