(REGION) — A popular brand name in the region is going through changes.
Citing ‘the ongoing business conditions facing the powersports industry,’ Arctic Cat is ceasing manufacturing at its facilities in Thief River Falls and St. Cloud. The changes will take place after the planned production in the first half of 2025 wraps up.
“Textron Inc. also announced that it is exploring strategic alternatives regarding the future of the powersports business,” Brandon Haddock, Director of Communications with Textron, said in a statement. “These actions are difficult but necessary as we have continued to experience softness in consumer end-market demand, resulting in a need to reduce costs.”
After completion of the builds in 2025, employees will be released. Employees who work through their specific completion date will be offered severance benefits, Haddock said.
