MINNESOTA – Minnesotans are now able to get state Child Tax Credit payments in advance.
Governor Tim Walz says the goal is to lower child poverty and provide relief for working class families.
Under the new rules, those filing their tax returns in the new year can opt to get the full credit for their 2024 filing, part of the next year’s credit across three payments in the last six months of 2025, and the remaining credit when filing in 2026.
Taxpayers can qualify for credits up to $1,750 dollars for each eligible child.
