WASHINGTON – A report on President-Elect Donald Trump’s alleged efforts to overturn the results of the 2020 election may be released.
Judge Aileen Cannon denied a request that would have extended an injunction banning the Justice Department from releasing a volume from former special counsel Jack Smith’s report. The DOJ can now release the volume of the report as soon as midnight. Cannon kept a prohibition in place that would bar the release of a part of the report that details Trump’s classified documents case.
The Justice Department previously said it didn’t plan to release that volume at this point.
