(BISMARCK, ND) – North Dakota Superintendent of Public Instruction Kirsten Baesler has confirmed that she has met the Trump Education Transition Team.
“Yes, I am grateful to have had the opportunity to meet with the Education Transition Team, including Linda McMahon,” she said in a statement. “We have a shared interest in returning education control back to the states and creating a work-ready focus in education.”
McMahon is President Donald Trump’s nominee for Education Secretary. She served as Administrator of the Small Business Administration in the first Trump Administration from 2017 to 2019 and was CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment from 1980 to 2009.
Baesler is the state school superintendent and administrator of the North Dakota Department of Public Instruction. She was first elected in November 2012. She was re-elected to her fourth four-year term in November 2024.
