(St. Paul, MN) — Filip Gustavsson stood on his head as the Minnesota Wild beat the Carolina Hurricanes 2-1 at the Xcel Energy Center. Gustavsson made 37 saves in the victory, with Carolina’s only goal coming with under three minutes left in regulation.
Yakov Trenin scored in the first period, and Vinnie Hinostroza lit the lamp in the third period of his Wild debut. The Wild snapped a two-game losing streak, and they are in third place in the Central Division with 68 points and a 32-19-4 record.
The Wild will host the the New York Islanders on Saturday night.
