NASCAR’s duels at Daytona Beach begin Thursday

(Dayton Beach, FL) — The stage will be set this week for one of the biggest races of the NASCAR Cup Series season. The field squares off in the Duels at Daytona on Thursday.

Chase Elliott hopes to carry momentum into the qualifiers after winning the season opening race at Winston-Salem. The driver of the No. 9 car held off Ryan Blaney by just over a second to cruise down victory lane in the Cook Out Clash at Bowman Gray Stadium. Denny Hamlin, Joey Logano and Bubba Wallace rounded out the top-five finishers.

The green flag for the Daytona 500 waves next Sunday.
