(Bismarck, ND) — State lawmakers are considering a bill that, if enacted, would offer financial support to small towns in North Dakota.
Proponents say Senate Bill 2390 would fund the creation of a “rural catalyst committee” tasked with helping communities with populations of 85-hundred or less move forward with local quality-of-life projects. The committees would include two people appointed by executive boards of the state’s regional councils, a member from the Legislative Assembly appointed by the chairman of Legislative Management, and both the governor and commerce commissioner, or their respective designees.
Initial project funding is set at 30-million dollars.
