4 Nations Face-Off begins Wednesday

(Montreal, QC) — The inagural 4 Nations Face-Off begins on Wednesday with Sidney Crosby and Canada taking on William Nylander and Sweden in Montreal.

The 4 Nations Face-Off is a round-robin tournament featuring teams of NHL players from Canada, Finland, Sweden and the United States. Each country will play three games in a standard round-robin format. A win in regulation is three points, a win in overtime or a shootout is two points, a loss in overtime or a shootout is one point and a loss in regulation is no points.

The two teams with the best records after the three tournament games will play a one-game final. The United States’ first game of the tournament is Thursday in Montreal against Finland.
