(GRAND FORKS, ND) — Calls for service were up, but crime was down, in 2024 in Grand Forks.
The Grand Forks Police Department says the 59,047 calls for service in 2024 is an increase of more than 11 percent over 2023. However, despite the increase in calls for service, a slight decrease in criminal offenses was reported in 2024.
The most noticeable increases in crime from 2023 to 2024 were three murders, up two from 2023. Additionally, the City of Grand Forks saw a total of 142 aggravated assaults, up from 103 the year prior. Burglaries were down in 2024, with 153 reported, compared to 248 in 2023.
