(BISMARCK, ND) — A West Fargo man convicted of killing his wife is appealing his sentence to the North Dakota Supreme Court.
In December, Spencer Moen was sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole in the beating death of his wife, Sonja, leaving her in a bathtub to die. In court documents filed with the North Dakota Supreme Court, Moen says there was ‘insufficient evidence to sustain a conviction,’ going on to further say that the ‘State failed to prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt.’
