Bill allowing more window tint on vehicles passes Senate, heads to Armstrong’s desk

(BISMARCK, ND) – A bill allowing more window tint on vehicles is headed to Governor Kelly Armstrong’s desk for approval.

The bill calls for window tint with a light transmittance of at least 35 percent. Century Code currently puts the transmittance at 75 percent. The percentage is the amount of light that is allowed into a vehicle. The bill ‘does not apply to windows behind the operator if the motor vehicle is equipped with outside mirrors on both sides.’

The North Dakota House passed the bill 89-2 before the crossover break.

On Tuesday, the North Dakota Senate passed the bill 41-6.
