The Minnesota Wild fell to the New York Rangers 3-2 in OT at the Xcel Energy Center on Thursday night. New York scored the game-winning goal less than two minutes into the overtime period.
Freddy Gaudreau and Marcus Johansson each scored a goal in the game. Filip Gustavsson saved 28 of the 31 shots he faced between the pipes.
Minnesota fell to a record of 37-25-4 on the season. They currently sit in fourth place in the Central Division and hold the Western Conference’s top wild card spot with 79 points. The Wild will now host the St. Louis Blues on Saturday night.
