Driver fleeing Pennington Co. deputies injured in head-on crash

PENNINGTON COUNTY, Minn. – The driver of an SUV has life threatening injuries after it crashed head-on during a police chase around noon Friday.

The Minnesota State Patrol says an SUV driven by 50-year-old Michelle Holter of Thief River Falls was fleeing deputies north on Minnesota Highway 32 in North Township when the vehicle collided with pickup.

Holter went to a Thief River Falls hospital by ambulance. Authorities say she wasn’t wearing a seat belt and her airbag deployed. The State Patrol says alcohol wasn’t a factor in the crash.

The driver and a passenger in the pickup weren’t hurt.
